Press Release

Barrington, IL…Praising Illinois State Senate candidate Dan Duffy as the only candidate in the race who truly understands the needs of the local business community, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee has endorsed Duffy’s candidacy.

Duffy is running in the Nov. 4, General Election for the state Senate seat in the 26th District, where longtime state Sen. Bill Peterson, of Buffalo Grove, is retiring. Duffy, of Lake Barrington, is a small business owner, is married and has five children.

“As we enter into troubling economic times, we need someone who understands the economic issues we face here in Illinois,” said Todd Maisch, vice president of government affairs for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. “As a small business owner, Dan is someone who will support our main street business community. Dan Duffy is the only candidate in this race who understands the needs of the local business owner and the business community.”

“Dan Duffy has an interesting story to tell our business community,” said Maisch. “He built a small business, a computer consulting company, from scratch, survived the technology crash several years ago and knows that a healthy local business community will help us turn around the economy. He knows how to fight through adversity.”

“I understand the issues facing hard working taxpayers,” said Duffy. “Taxpayers and small business owners are tired of high taxes. We are tired of the squabbling in Springfield where nothing gets done. Obviously, people want a change in leadership from Rod Blagojevich. Business owners across the state united against the governor when he proposed the Gross Receipts Tax, the largest tax increase in Illinois history. It is an honor to have the Illinois Chamber of Commerce in my corner. I am very pleased to receive their endorsement.”

Created in 1975, Chamber PAC is one of the oldest business political action committees in Illinois. Their mission is to promote and strive for improvement of Illinois government, encourage individuals to know their government, and assist individuals in organizing themselves for more effective political action. Chamber PAC does not contribute to federal campaigns.
