Round Lake mayor a no-show at League of Women Voters candidate forum
Barrington, Il…Illinois State Senate candidate Dan Duffy questioned why his opponent failed to show up for The League of Women Voters of Barrington candidate forum held Wednesday night at the Barrington Library.
Duffy is running for state Senate in the 26th District, where longtime incumbent Bill Peterson is stepping down. “I am surprised that my opponent failed to show up for the debate after he accepted the invitation and made a commitment to the League of Women Voters in Barrington,.” said Duffy. “I was looking forward to the debate and I am very disappointed.”
“I think it is reasonable for voters to evaluate how elected officials will perform after they are elected based on how hard they work as a candidate. If my opponent doesn’t show up for this important League of Women Voters debate, constituents might wonder how much he is committed to serving his district.”
