Press Release
Barrington, IL…The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Illinois SAFE Trust announced that it has endorsed Dan Duffy in his bid for the state Senate seat in the 26th District.
“Small business is the backbone of this state’s economy and we need someone in Springfield to work for small businesses which create most new jobs.” said Kim Clarke Maisch, state director of NFIB Illinois.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the NFIB, the largest small business advocacy organization in Illinois and the nation,” said Duffy. “As a small business owner, I understand how important commerce is to our local communities. It is imperative that our state government encourages business growth which will stimulate job creation.”
Duffy said he will work in the state Senate to oppose the numerous tax increases proposed by the Blagojevich administration over the past six years. “Health care costs have skyrocketed out of control and there have been a steady stream of payroll taxes, business income taxes, trucking and sales taxes that have made doing business in Illinois very difficult for all companies. We need to reverse the anti-business environment in Illinois and let it be known that Illinois is open for business” said Duffy.
Duffy has served on the Illinois NFIB Leadership Council and took on the role as Chairman of the Lake and Cook County Area Action Council for independent businesses.
Duffy is running in the Nov. 4, General Election as a Republican to replace retiring state Senator Bill Peterson, R-Buffalo Grove.
